This past Saturday, July 9th, Philadelphia experienced its first Vendy Award celebration. The celebration consisted of a cook off between the city’s finest sidewalk chefs. The Vendy Awards have been one of the more exciting food events in New York since 2005, and also serve as a fundraiser for Food Trust, a non-profit that aims to provide healthy food for all. And Philadelphia knows how to celebrate right; tickets were sold out and the 500 lucky attendees ate and drank their fill in the Piazza at Schmidts from 3pm to 7pm.
