Happy Birthday Shank’s!

That was then…

Shank’s says thanks to everyone who came out for their 50th Birthday Bash!

In the culinary world, 1962 was a big year. While Andy Warhol painted a can of soup, a restaurant in Times Square featured frozen dishes with tabletop microwaves. But aside from pop-art and freeze dried dishes, a small luncheonette opened in the Italian Market of Philadelphia, offering the world their deliciously flavorful and prized sandwiches!

Celebrating 50 years of serving customers the original tastes of Philly, Shank’s is did something special for their Birthday on National Sandwich Day last Saturday. All of your favorites were only $2.50 all day! There was also Birthday cake and a DJ. The crowd was large and obviously please with their delicious sandwiches in hand for an unbeatable price!

Shank’s is the best sandwich joint for that  old-time neighborhood Italian food, like the award-winning Chicken Cutlet Italiano, made with chicken cutlets dipped in homemade breadcrumbs, sharp provolone, and broccoli rabe.Shank’s Original at Pier 40is located at Columbus Boulevard & Christian Streets and is open 7 days a week, Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday until from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
