Hot Chocolate Hacks

Growing up there was no better feeling than coming in from a long, cold day of playing out in the snow and wrapping your frozen fingers around a steaming mug of hot chocolate, piled high with fluffy marshmallows. With temperatures reaching down into the single digits, we think it’s time we brought back those big cups of chocolately goodness with a little help from the liquor cabinet. We are adults after all.

Simple Super Bowl Snacks

Having a Super Bowl party and stuck on snack ideas? No worries, we have got you covered. We’ve created a list of simple party ideas from our personal favorite restaurants that are guaranteed to leave your guests craving for more. And the best part? You don’t have to lift a finger in the kitchen.

For all you pizza lovers, pick up a few tomato pies from Santucci’s Square Pizza to add some spunk to your fiesta. With its thick bready crust and a generous layer of tomato sauce, Santucci’s is sure treat your taste buds well.  Pizza Brain offers innovative topping combinations, giving guests something new to try. The menu proudly boasts a Kira Tierston, a red pie with mozzarella, smoked bacon, hint of brown sugar, red onion, and oven-roasted brussels sprout. Talk about a combination!

It is a little known fact that no Super Bowl party is complete without sandwiches. A crowd favorite, sandwiches are easy to eat and fill hungry tummies. We recommend serving platters of hoagies or grilled veggie combos. Sarcone’s Deli or Primo Hoagies are great places to pick up a few. Just unwrap and serve!

This year, spice up your Super Bowl party with falafel balls. Stop by Mama’s Vegetaria or the Falafel Bar to find large portions of these delicious, fried vegetarian fritters. Falafel balls are versatile as they can be dressed up into sandwich using pita bread or can be topped over lettuce and tomatoes to make a salad. If you are looking to keep it simple, you can serve the deep-fried balls solo. A favorite dish among vegetarians, you’d definitely make a statement with this snack.

Take a bite out of the wings from Fox and the Hound or Federal Donuts. Between these two eateries, you are sure to find what you are looking for. If you want to serve wings with traditional sauces (mild, BBQ, spicy garlic, etc.) then Fox and the Hound is your go-to. For wings with a funkier appeal, check out Federal Donuts for its seasonings and glazes of coconut curry, za’atar, or honey ginger.

Be sweet and leave your guests some room for dessert. Why waste game time throwing a pie into the oven when you can get your sugary treats from one of the city’s finest bakeries? Isgro’s Pastries and the Swiss Haus Bakery both offer delectable delights of cakes, cookies, and assorted pastries. Watch your guests’ mouths water as they dig into these irresistible delicacies.

There you have it. A snack menu with winning Super Bowl party foods. Have fun and enjoy the game!
