No Kitten Left Behind

kitten-praying-31Pet Valu is teaming up with local animal shelters to provide for the neglected pets out there. For the entire month of June Pet Valu will be selling 40 pound bags of kitty litter for customers to send off to local shelters.  The huge bags are only $6.99 so you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank!

These animals need your help because local shelters are overcrowded and rely on your donations to keep the animals healthy, clean, and comfortable. The next time that you are doing your usual shopping for your pet stop by Pet Valu and pick up the bag of kitty litter so that they can help an animal that is in need of help. Even if you’re not an animal owner you can still stop by and donate a bag of litter to help out the local kitties in your area.

Pet Valu is a leading specialty retailer of organic, holistic, and premium pet food, supplies and treats at competitive prices. Every Pet Valu team member is certified in pet nutrition and is ready to provide expert advice on how to best care for your pet. The Pet Valu family is heavily involved in their community, teaming up with animal rescues and adoption programs, and fundraising for animal shelters. Walk to Give

CSCCradles to Crayons (C2C) is a local organization committed to helping children from birth to age 12 who are homeless or in a low-income family. Recently, Cradles to Crayons has served its 200,000th child! This is a huge milestone for the organization, which is only eight years old in Philadelphia. C2C puts together packs of clothes, shoes, books, toys and school supplies that will help the child throughout the year and then distribute them to local children in need. In the past year alone, C2C has helped over 87,000 children in the Boston and Philadelphia regions.  All items are donated to C2C by members of the community, and the only requirement is that they be in good condition.

Saturday, June 14th, Cradles to Crayons, along with Brave Hearts for Strong Minds, will be hosting a Pre-Fathers Day Walk to raise funds for children who have lost parents. The walk starts at 9 a.m. and is taking place at LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, PA. Participants are asked to bring donations which can range from items essential to infants or books and clothes for a pre-teen. If you are unable to contribute an item, monetary donations are always accepted.

For more information on the walk and items being accepted visit Cradles to Crayons’s website. For an outline of the course, visit Brave Hearts for Strong Minds website, which has a map of LaSalle’s campus.

burgerpic

Hungry for a burger? Come out to any Philadelphia Shake Shack location on June 6 through June 15, and sink your teeth into a carbonara burger for only $6.75 each! The Burger will be called the Benefit Burger because a dollar from every sale will be donated to the Vetri Foundation.

The mission of the Vetri Foundation is to help kids understand the relationship between healthy eating and healthy living. The Vetri Foundation, founded by Marc Vetri, aims to present children with the nutritional information that they need to grow and succeed.

Marc Vetri and Shake Shack Culinary Director, Mark Rosati, collaborated on the burger recipe, consisting of beef, bacon, pecorino cheese, black pepper, and a sunny-side-up egg. This collaboration makes it the perfect Benefit Burger.

This is Shake Shack’s first partnership with a local chef. Be sure to come out and enjoy a delicious burger for a great price and an amazing cause! If you cannot make it to the promotion but really want to get your hands on one of these burgers, Vetri plans to put the burger on Alla Spina’s menu sometime after June 15.
