Bring Philly’s Arts and Culture Scene Home

A cooking lesson with a top Philadelphia chef? Yoga with a small business owner? A tour of your favorite local park? In-person experiences may be on a hiatus for the time being, but NBC10 and Visit Philadelphia have teamed up to develop a platform for locals and tourists to experience Philadelphia’s vast arts and culture scene from the comfort (and safety) of their homes.

Philly Live Weekends is a Facebook livestream series featuring chefs, performers, artists and more working and playing from home. The experiences range from backyard circus performances to margarita tutorials to hippo feedings. Absolutely nothing is off the table when it comes to these Philadelphian’s unique interests and skills.

New Ship Bottom Brewery “Linvilla Orchards Hard Cider” is Available Saturday, May 16, 2020

At Linvilla Orchards, the Ship Bottom Brewery Beer Garden usually serves as a spot where guests can play Corn Hole and Giant Jenga, and even share a pint around the bonfire. In the age of social distancing, Linvilla Orchards and Ship Bottom Brewery are teaming up to release a specialty hard cider that not only reminds us of the great times we’ve had at the Ship Bottom Brewery Beer Garden, but lets us bring the fun home.

Ship Bottom Brewery takes pride in handcrafting every batch of beer they make. Every ingredient they use is hand-selected by their head brewer in Beach Haven, NJ to ensure freshness and quality. The new Linvilla Orchards Hard Cider will be a year-round offering, made with a mix of freshly pressed apples for a crisp-sweet cider. The cider is gluten-free and has an ABV of 5.5%.

Linvilla Orchards Hard Cider will be available on Saturday May 16, 2020 from 12-5pm via contactless curbside pickup. 6-packs and cases will be sold for $11 and $44 respectively. For more information on how to pick up the new release, visit the official Facebook event by clicking here.

Philadelphia’s Restaurant Scene Comes Together for “Take Home the Eats Week” May 6 through May 10, 2020

When the impact of COVID-19 on the food and beverage industry began to hit Philadelphia, restaurateurs assembled. A digital hub, Save Philly Eats, was built from the ground up to generate income for the city’s restaurants and bars. What started as a small group of restaurants offering gift card discounts and exclusive experiences rapidly grew, now housing over 100 offers at restaurants across Philadelphia.

As Save Philly Eats continues to expand, so does their programming, with the announcement of their biggest event yet: Take Home the Eats Week. A play on Center City District Restaurant Week, restaurants participating in Take Home the Eats Week are compiling price fixe dining options for pickup Wednesday, May 6 through Sunday, May 10, 2020. Breslow Partners client, Vietnam Cafe, is offering their Ultimate Happy Hour Sampler, which serves four and includes favorites like crispy pork spring rolls, fried shrimp, beef stuffed grape leaves, and more.
