One of the most popular holiday desserts on the menu this season at the award-winning Night Kitchen Bakery in Chestnut Hill, is the holiday Yule Log. It is guaranteed to WOW holiday dinner guests, and it’s the perfect ending to a great meal. Home made whipped cream is placed on a layer of chocolate sponge cake and then rolled and iced with chocolate. It’s then decorated with fresh holly, gingerbread men and candy canes.
The nine inch Yule Log sells for $48 and serves 10 to 12 people, and the 18 inch Yule Log sells for $68 and serves 16 to 18 people.
The Yule Log is available for purchase throughout December. But please keep in mind that Night Kitchen Bakery requires orders be placed 48 hours in advance, however, Sunday, December 19th is the cutoff for Xmas orders. Night Kitchen Bakery is located on 7725 Germantown Avenue. To place an order, contact Night Kitchen Bakery at 215-248-9235. For more information, visit their website at www.NightKitchenBakery.com.
Have you achieved some acclaim in your restaurant? Are you stuck in “hometown hero” plateau? Would you consider writing a book but you’re lost translating what you do to a national platform? Well, we have a program for you. It’s a Cookbook Boot Camp. This intensive two-day workshop is being led by acclaimed Southern food writers/siblings Matt and Ted Lee. And since this is the inaugural workshop, the price is right. If you can get in to the January class, you might be able to enjoy the low introductory rate of $750.
We love this program. It’s a great idea presented by a couple of serious food writers. Let us know if you’d like to know more. Space is limited to 12 and you have to sign up by December 13th to be considered. There will be another session in July, but it will cost more. So if you are interested, let us know and we’ll send you more information. Just email Tina Breslow at email@example.com

Christmas is a time to celebrate traditions, both old and new. Across the world, families will gather to put up trees, decorate their homes with lights and sing joyous songs about the Christmas season. Linvilla Orchards continues the ancient Wassailing tradition with Caroling Hayrides running today and on December 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 5 and 6:30pm.
So join in on the tradition and bring your family as you snuggle together and take a ride through the orchards. The wagon stops among the apple trees where you’ll disembark and sing carols while warming up around a crackling campfire. Partake in the magic of the season with this hayride for only $5 per person!
